Called “The Crime of the Century”, the Los Angeles Times Building was bombed by a member of the International Association of Bridge and Structural Iron Workers on October 1, 1910.

The explosion and fire injured more than 100 employees and killed 21. After his arrest, James B. McNamara was convicted and sentence to life in prison.
