The Elrod House, located in Palm Springs at 2175 Southridge Drive was designed by John Lautner and constructed in 1968. Built for interior designer Arthur Elrod, it is an excellent example of what became known as the “Free Architecture” style. The construction of the house was ordered by Arthur Elrod, an interior designer.
The main idea behind the house was to combine architecture and nature. Large rocks are incorporated into the living which opens into the outdoor swimming pool.
