Bel Air is a neighborhood located on the Westside of Los Angeles about 12 miles west of Downtown Los Angeles. It has about 9,000 affluent residents within its 6.37 miles.
Founded in 1923 by Alphonzo Bell Sr. and his wife who chose Italian names for the streets. They also built the Bel-Air Country Club, Bel-Air Beach Club in Santa Monica and in 1931 the Bel-Air Garden Club.
