This print was created by Julius Shulman while on assignment in Austria.

The Melk Abbey is a Benedictine Abbey which overlooks the Danbe River. It was founded in the year 1089.
The current abbey was built between 1702 and 1736 in the Baroque style and with Jakob Prandtauer as the architect.

Chromogenic Color Print mounted on backboard. Shulman’s studio stamp in ink and signature in pencil on verso AND signature and date in white ink on recto. Also noted on left front “Monastery, Melk, Austria”. Signed by Julius Shulman in his Hollywood Hills studio.

Unframed on backboard. 10 3/4 in. x 14 in. (27.30 cm. x 35.56 cm.)

The backboard does not interfere with the framing of this print.
