First Printing. Author’s first book. This seminal work defined Modern Landscape Architecture. Eckbo’s landscape designs were a vehicle for social change by breaking down the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. Eckbo’s maintained his vision of the interaction of art and science to create environments that were functional and livable, while maintaining the social, ecological and cultural approach to design.

Julius Shulman had this book on his desk when he spilled a cup of water on it. All the pages have bumps on them and some have minor discoloring. Every page can be read without issues. Front cover is very slightly discolored.
