This image of the home commissioned by interior designer Arthur Elrod is also the front cover for Julius Shulman’s Palm Springs, a well-received book by the very talented  Michael Stern and Alan Hess. Located in Palm Springs, California and  constructed in 1968, the Elrod House was designed by architect John Lautner. The house is located at 2175 Southridge Drive, Palm Springs, California. Currently owned by Michael Kilroy a real estate investor, who purchased the home in 2003 from Ron Burkle for $5.5 million, today, the home has been completely restored.  The home features large rocks in the living room as well as a circular canopy above the living room with a glass design. There are incredible views of Palm Springs from the swimming pool and terrace.
The home is been the site for many photo shoots including Playboy and  Diamonds Are Forever.

In late 2012 Lloyds Bank in the United Kingdom filed a suit against Kilroy noting over $1.8 million in overdue mortgage payments and legal fees. In early 2014, it was reported that Kilroy was till behind in paying the mortgage, HOA dues and property taxes.
