Albert Frey was born in Switzerland and as well as working in construction during his school vacations, attended the Institute of Technology in Switzerland.
After working in Belgium and Paris, Frey moved to the United States.
Frey lived in Palm Springs, California for much of his life and designed many homes for famous clients.
Upon his death, Frey donated his home built on the side of a mountain to the Palm Springs Museum.
