A rare shot taken by Julius Shulman while on assignment in Italy
Bellagio- Villa Melzi Garden
Built between 1808 and 1810 for Francesco Melzi d’Eril, Vice president of the First Italian Republic who wanted a summer residence at Bellagio.
Architect Giocondo Albertolli was asked to design a villa with white columns that flank the landing stage in front of the villa. Regular succession of the windows enhance the classical style of the house when viewed from the lake.
