Brazil’s seat of government of the Federal Building is located in the country’s center region.

Founded on April 21, 1960 Brasília is Brazil’s 3rd most populous city Latin American cities and has the highest GDP per capita of all Latin American cities.

The city was planned and developed by Lucio Costa, Oscar Neimeyer and Joaquim Cardozo in 1956. It was created to move the capital from Rio de Janeiro to a more central location. The city’s designed into the Hotel Sector, the Banking Sector and the Embassy Sector. Brasília was chosen as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Due to its modernist architecture and uniquely artistic urban planning the city was chosen as a UNESCO world Heritage site. Three branches of Brazil’s federal government are centered in the city: executive, legislative and judiciary as well as 124 foreign embassies.
