Brazilian architect Antonio Francisco Lisboa was also known as O Aleijadino which means “The Little Cripple”. Born in 1738 in Ouro Preto, Brazil he died in 1814. After becoming physically disabled in his 30’s, Lisboa needed to have his chisels strapped to him to be able to work.
