The Academy Theater was designed by Charles S. Lee. The Theater located at 3945 City Terrace Drive. (East Los Angeles), California opened on March 26, 1942. Built for a capacity of 811 persons, the theater was demolished in 1963. The site was purchased by the Archdiocese in 1070 to build St. Lucy’s Catholic Church.
