The first Conservative in Southern California, Sinai Temple was started in 1906. With the plans created by architect Robert Orr, the Sinai Temple at the 634 S. Normandie Avenue, Los Angeles location was built between 1927 and 1927 in the style of Romanesque Revival. Having outgrown its  facility and following its members who were moving to Beverly Hills and the Westside of Los Angeles, Sinai Temple completed its current facility at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Beverly Glen Boulevard in Westwood.

Oasis Church purchased the property in 2012. The property was designated as a Historic Landmark on January 17, 1979.
