This print created while Shulman was serving in the U S Army.
Julius Shulman entered the army in October 1943 and was discharged in late 1945. Having spent two years in the army during World War ll, one of his main assignments was taking photographs … mostly of surgical procedures as well as the base located in Spokane, Washington. Upon returning from the army, Shulman now a husband and father found himself in even greater demand as a photographer.
